For a 2000 Ford Mustang Automatic 3.8L V6 w/ 4.10 gears, long tube headers, X pipe, performance tune, and a CAI to beat a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Automatic 5.7L LS1 V8 w/ vortec forced air induction?
Will a supercharger do the trick to win? This is for drag racing.
He will have to break at the starting line! Even I wouldn't stand much of a chance with my Cobra!
He's probably 500lbs lighter and probably has 450-500 RWHP!
You would have to go with some seriously forged bottom end and a Twin Turbo setup to even get close!
All Forged 4.2L w/ twin turbos + Nitrous, would be close still not sure if you would win!
I'm guess you know someone with the 'vette right? Just remember no matter how fast you car is there is ALWAYS someone else out there faster.

yeah that is a tough one there wilson...corvettes arent really our comp and thats the reason....most of them are more exotic than domestic...but i am sure there is a config that would bring you the victory...everything has a price
Maybe you should try obtaining a 'Flux Capacitor'!

It would take a whole lot of money. And basically, that is what racing is, a whole lot of money. The faster you go, the more you spend.
Are you wanting to do this to your car or you just curious if it could ever happen? If you build a V6 to win or even compete it won't be any good for daily driving! You have to figure out what you want out of the car before you start modding. Get a plan for the estimated power and decide how wild you are going to get. If you plan to get wild plan to also have another for of transportation...
Just get a crotch rocket and be done with him!

Or, as he starts to throttle up, say hey, I can win this out loud. As he becomes teary eyed from laughter, he will then realize that you are half way down the track. Might work?

That's my new girlfriend's car. Been smack talkin each other all day. Before I totally get my ass whooped at the track I just wanted to be prepared. I guess I'll do a engine swap with a 5.0 if possible. Or hell.. get me a GT 500.
Kevo LOL I love your sig with the guy rowing.

She's getting a Z06 and I'm thinking about buying a ROUSH.
For what you're spending on a Roush, I'd get a Terminator Cobra! That Z06 will still clean a Roush's clock, (yeah, even a Stage 3). I'd take that Terminator and have a Twin Turbo system installed by MPH and tuned for around 700-800RWHP then lay waste to those Z06's!
Rich g/f's are always nice until they have cars faster than yours!

I would say get yourself a jet motor along with a high priced hyphendufanator along with the flux capacitor and ya might stand a chance, lol!
But I agree with alot of comments up top here. A new forged out motor, say in the 5.4L category and a Twin Turbo set-up ,,
say Twin 76mm or wait until my car gets done being built and tell him I will line up next to him anytime, ROFLMAO!!!

damn... I gotta suck it up and take it from her. Just wait till I win the lottery. But I'm still gonna trash talk because the mustang is the first... and last car I'll ever own.
Ok guys I gotta go back to rehab for my speed addiction. Apparently I can't keep my foot off the accelerator and it turns out its against the law too. See ya in a few weeks.
Maybe a speed limiter needs to be programmed into your car! Good Luck with that!

Does she have the supercharger on there now or is this something she wants to put on? I don't realy see too many vortech (correct spelling) superchargers on corvettes. If she wants to add this part, she'll looking at over 7k+ for parts/labor.
Sell your V6 and buy a car that will have a chance. Even if you do somehow reach a decent horsepower number, the corvette is just a better platform. Weight is less, aerodynamics is better, overall - its just a better car.
