The weather is nice, the summer is well upon us, and its' time for another cookout!!

For those who came out a few weeks ago, we all had fun at Cooper Creek Park cooking out some hotdogs and sitting around talking and having fun, so we are doing this event again, but with a week's planning, we should be able to really have a great turnout!!

Event is this Sunday, June 24, from 4:30 until whenever...

We will be dining under the pavilion, which was adjacent to the spot we were at last time... there are bathrooms, a cul-de-sac that should hold all of our cars, and the covered pavilion has lights and a giant cookout grill, so we will be able to hang out for longer, and in the event of rain, still hang out!!

The plan for this event is the same as last time, bring an item or two, and the cost is covered!! Should we add hamburgers to the event? Then bring them! Think we need some chips? Go to the store!! But each member is only expected to bring one or two items, so post up what you are bringing, so we all can keep track; i will list items as we go that are covered, and items we still need...

The biggest part of this event is that we all invite non members to come out, we need to use this group event not only to hang together and have fun, but to get as many new members together to see what kind of club we are, and how a family-oriented club operates and comes together! So all those of you who have a friend at work, or a neighbor with a mustang, or event when you are cruising around during this week, keep an eye out for new guys and gals to invite to the event! we can grow our family every day with just a few minutes of enthusiastic talk about mustangs, and an invite to an event like this!

I will be bringing thirty hot dogs and buns for thirty dogs, plus condiments (ketchup/mustanrd/mayo), and three bottles of drink, plus a cooler for ice (Teresa, think you might be able to work us a hookup on the ice again?!?).

Who's bringing what? and sign on here ASAP with it!

DON'T FORGET THE CAMERAS AND TOYS!!!

I'm thinking 24th instead of 14th.. Must have hit a one instead of a two. I'll update front page for 24th and if I'm wrong, correct me...

I'd also like to get a pic for the home page for next month. I would like a Red, a White and a Blue Mustang taken together for a Fourth of July thing.

okay this is great!!! so we have all that covered, good job!

(by toys i meant outdoors sport equipment larry and lisa, keep the whips and handcuffs at home!! :p)

we still need the following, plus LOTS of new people to meet the club and see how much fun we all have as a group! so call your friends, tell your work buddies with mustangs, inform that guy at the gas station you visit every morning for coffee who has a v-6, that we are CCS, and we are looking for THEM!!!

here is what's left...

(BTW, we have enough chips...)

about twenty more hot dogs and about 12 more buns, plus if soemone wants to do hamburgers, i figure the frozen patty type from sam's club...
just a couple more sodas, or some tea would be good too
cookies/dessert items
ice/coolers especially...

larry lisa, i assume by utensils you meant both forks/knives, AND the tongs for cooking, is that right?

keep it rolling gang! get on the phone and get those stang owners out there!!!

So you saying that everyone can invite V-6ers, just not to hurt anyones feelin's so we dont feel left out?

Why does the guy at the gas station have to have a V-6? Hummm pick on us again..humm?

you know I am just messin right.......we know we are just little 6ers..hangin with haters..I mean 8ers....

Yeah, he needs to check out the latest MM&FF and take a look at that 9-sec 6-banger in there! Oh yeah, there's a turbo-4 that doing 9's as well.

SniperStang

not hating on the 6ers, but some folks in the club (not myself) seem to only talk to brand new stangs, or only v8 stangs, or only track-oriented stangs, which does not help to diversify the club, so i am saying no matter who it is, and who you are, if they own a stang, talk to them and invite them out!

Ya....we hear all the cracks on 6ers....don't bother us....not everyone can drive with the top down.....Lisa had a choice v6 convert, or GT non convert...so she picked Convert....I knew i was going to get alot of crapp for haveing a v6, but i dont have to listen to anyone other than lisa at the end of the day....

And we all do get along....dont we........shoot lets party...

I would to take this opportunity to, apologize for not being there Sunday. Lisa did show up with what we said we would bring...so at least we didn’t leave you all hanging without plates...
As some of you know I am in the military and when duty calls, soldiers re-act. I got that call Friday night...Saturday, I was with a young lady that lost her husband Friday, in combat, fighting for our great country. I have been tasked with helping her in making arrangements to receive her husband from Dover AFB. And then helping her put her life back in line....
I do believe that missing an event one week-end is forgivable. I ran into someone yesterday, that made the commit, hey you told me to show up but you weren’t even there.. I bit my lip and asked him to think about what he said...he knew why I didn't attend but yet made a remark. Just because we loose a soldier doesn’t mean we don't take care of our family.
I am proud to have served with her husband in OIF 3, and knew him quite well, so it is an honor for me to help her in her time of need.

I would hope that if anyone needed the same type of help in our club, member or not, we are all family and should express care and understanding for each other... I have seen everyone in the club, grow closer together as .......friends....so my point is if anyone needs any type of help or assistance, in their life.......ask and I know I would try and help if I can....I know someone would do the same for me.....

Larry, you're being at the cookout and not taking care of that type of business and family would be a sin. It's fortunate that you got to do this for your friend, but it's also fortunate that CCS has people like you as our friend (and family) as well. Sometimes we do lose sight of ourselves and that's something we probably all have to keep in check on occasion. Thanks for posting this and giving some of us the reality checks that we do need to give ourselves on occasion in order to be better members, better citizens and overall, better people.

Thanks,

Ed

absolutely no reason to apologize larry/lisa, you had a major event to deal with... the needs of someone you are connected with in a time of grief are more important than anything, and there was no choice to make, so do not say you are sorry for missing the picnic...

we all appreciated you dropping off the plates and stuff lisa, thanks for making the drive out to do that when you and larry had such an important duty to one of your fellow soldiers to perform, the club is lucky, as always, to have people like you that try every day to fulfill their obligations and such despite the time and effort it must take to do so...

as for the event itself, we all missed you guys, had to put Aubrey on cooking duty (if i had done it, we'd all have starved!!) and i have your extra supplies at my house, so remind me the next event we have to get them back to you, please!

we will see you at the next CCS event!! (gonna post that up in a few...)

Monday will be the Grave site service at Fort Benning Cem. I can not release the name yet, but when I can I will keep you all posted.
