What is the difference of Stage 1 and Stage 2 Nitrous. I don't know if you all watch the show "Pinks" on the Speed channel, but I've been watching it for the last year or so, and they are always negotiating about taking off 1 of the 2 stages of Nitrous.

you may have 75 on stage one and 150 shot on the 2nd stage

And it's just two different switches? How's it set up? Like one is a dry shot, and the other is a wet or direct port or what?

Try this site....has some info for ya...about stages.....
All I know is the 80 shot is for out of the hole....and 150 shot which is almost twice the jucie..is for mid track.....taking one stage out gets you out of the hole but will have to run the motor twards the end of the track....
I am not realy smart on the subject at all....this is just from watching Pinks and reading alittle.... Lj.

On my old setup I had a two stage kit.
Basically you have two nitrous ports.
You can "pill" each shot of nitrous to a certain amount.
In my case, I had a 75 shot on the first stage (or first port) and 75 on the second stage.
When I would take off, I was shooting a 75 shot which gave me roughly 80/100 hp/tq extra.
After I hit second, I would hit the second shot (while the first shot was still spraying) so then I would have 150 shot total or roughly 140/200 hp/tq extra (I think those were the numbers, I really don't remember).
But as you see, if you take off the second shot (stage) you are cutting out however many horsepower that extra nozzle provides.
I hope that explains it.

Okay let me chime in on this staging issue.
Most Dual ports are a direct port set-up, requiring a spray plate with 2 different nitrous heads and 2 different buttons to push for stage 1, stage 2, or it can be a direct manifold port set-up requiring that you tap into your manifold to install the lines and heads for the fogger.
Scenario:
Out of the whole/Off the line, you spray the lowest stage possible, this is to get the car moving without loss of traction normally a 75 shot, which with my new set-up being Zex, stage 1 set-up would run a #26/#40 jets for fuel/nitrous mixture, giving me enough power to launch the car, but not lose traction.
Stage 2 can be set on a delay or wide open throttle, I prefer a delay, you can set a 1, 2 , 3 second delay on the nitrous window switch and after your programmed delay your other shot kicks in. Or, you can set it by pushing a second switch wich is most prefered by most racers.
Your second stage can be a 125 all the way up to a 500 shot if your motor/drive train can handle the additional hp/tq the nitrous is going to provide. Normally you can shoot your second stage off at the 60' mark or wait until you hit half track and your opponent is catching you or is ahead of you. If you are in the lead and there is no chance of your opponent catching you, then, why use your second stage.
Most dry system's are not set up like this, they are set up for as soon as the gas pedal gets slammed to the floor the system shoots the nitrous in mixing it with your fuel and you have the full effect of the hp/tq at that time.
The only true difference between a wet kit and a dry kit, is, YOU MUST PURGE the lines before turning the car off with a wet set-up, if not when you turn the beast back on the fuel/nitrous in the lines may cause detenation therefor you have a fireworks show under the hood.
Also it is highly advisable to have the car professionally tuned for what ever system you have put on.
I hope this has cleared up any/all nitrous staging questions.

Zex has a great system for the 05-08 Mustangs, my opinion is if interested in going that route go to www.zex.com research the system first, then order it from www.rpmoutlet.com. They own there wharehouse there for they have no overhead and prices are lower for a complete system.
I have thoroughly researched nitrous systems, until I thought my head was going to explode, until I purchased a new set-up. Make sure you read the fine print and research it very thoutoughly tho, I also had to go with an aftermarket igniton set-up for my system, so I went with the DIS-8 Ignition control Box.
If you need any help with research just let me know, I have plenty of time on my hands and will be more than happy to assist you.
I will research all optional set-ups for you to include other brands such as NOS,ZEX, etc, etc, etc, and help you with a decision if you really choose to add a set-up to your car.
Getting a safe set-up is what it is all about, and trust me I am all about the safety aspect of it.

see what you do is...... you press the button for the first stage....once you get up to about 8000rpms...you then use a teflon and/or cast iron mallet to strike the surface of the container holding stage 2...that pounding will produce an additional 100hp to the front wheels...thus causing the vehicle to win what ever race you are racing... :) :) :)
