View Full Version : Finaly got me a classic again.

As of sunday, i finaly got a classic mustang again. The last time i had a true classic mustang that i could drive was back in 1996. I frequent craigs list quite often, and on sunday, i happened to stumble on an add for a 1967 mustang coupe. The selling price was 4000 or trade for a pickup truck. I called the gentleman, sent him some pics, and off to north georgia i went. we completed the trade and i drove the mustang back to columbus at an amazing 23.4 MPG from a 289. The car is not without it's flaws, and will require some sheet metal replacement. However, i have a body man in the fam. I ran the data plate and vin. Built at san jose california. DSO of New orleans, coupe with standard interior. 289 2v carb with c-4 automatic. 3.00 locking diff orriginally wimbledon white with red interior. This is the keeper that i have been working torward.

My little brother knows how much i love anything associated with mustangs and mustangs in general. About two months ago he found a 1967 mustang coupe for 1500.oo The car was in great condition and after putting a new fuel tank and ignition switch in it we were able to crank it up and drive it a bit. It was only a v-6 but I was already dreaming up parts and mods for a big-block swap with c-4, nitrous, and 4:10 gears. Unfortunately it was not my car, and he put it in the body shop for a fresh coat of paint and some very minor rust repair in the rear end. While it was there someone offered him 2500.00 bucks for it and he sold it. He said it was a good profit, I told him he was a big idiot.

I still have a couple of parts that we ordered, new tail light covers (chrome) etc. if your interested let me know, the are brand new. never even put on the car. I even have another brand new tank for it i believe, still in the box it was shipped in.

Im truely jealous of you for owning such a beautiful car. Best of luck and congrats on finding that jewel!
