Ok, i have to say that after the night I stopped by petsmart and ran into the stangz, i got the bug again. So, i traded my cavalier to a guy at work for a 88 GT convertible. The car needs a lil work, but i have already started ironing out the wrinkles. The good stuff is as follows. Cobra upper and lower intake, 70 mm throttle body, 24# injectors, edelbrock performer heads, motorsport B cam, crane roller rockers, 1/2 inch intake spacer, some off the wall brand of headers, mass air conversion, either 3.55 or 3.27 gears ( have not checked for sure yet) chrome pony rims, brand new top, short throw shifter. Now the bad....the body is twisted but will be fixed shortly and sub frame connected, the front suspension needs to be rebuilt, and it needs tires. That is about the only bad it has. Any how, i plan to be at the meeting coming up next week.

I have never owned or messed with a fox body, but it 24# injectors really a good mod for the 5.0's? They seem kind of small to me, but I'm probably wrong.

The factory 5.0 comes with 19# injectors. But ford used 24# injectors on the 93, 94, and 95 cobra mustangs, as well as the 93 and 95 cobra R mustangs. Anything more than 24# injectors with no more than is done to the engine, and i would be wasting my time. Besides, 24# injectors are good up to arround 350 horse power, but your pushing the duty cycle to their limit there as it is. as it sits now, I can beat my old LT1 formula firebird that i traded to a friend of mine...plus my fuel mileage is about 15 city and 22 high way. This is on par with the fuel standards advertised by the current mustangs. Oh, thanks Spence....i'll be seing you arround

The speedometer on all fox body stangs 79 to 88 read 85 mph. Unless it was a special service car. (cop car). Then it was a 140 speedo. In 89, the 5.0 powered stangs had 140, but the 4 cyl cars stayed 85. In 94 the 6 cyl cars read 120, gt read 150, and cobra 160. I believe this was true till 2004, but not sure about the new ones.

A product of the Naderite know-nothings that controled the Carter
mis-administration. Mandated that a speedometers read 85 and note 55
in some way (usually its orange when the other numbers are white).
Speedshops did a brisk business in replacing these with ether Canadian
spec (which were metric, but still went up to the top speed of the car)
or cop car spec.
