View Full Version : What Happened to DYNO DAY?

I recall several months ago we were going to do a "Dyno Day" at MPH in Atlanta but it fell through. Has there been any efforts to reschedule this or to set up a new Dyno Day, like with this new 'partner'? I think there's quite a few of us that would like to know where our cars are at and maybe get a good new tune. It would be great to have some way for several of us to do this pretty soon.

If I get 10 confirmations in here that are willing to put down deposits on a Dyno Day I will set it up with either MPH or KSS. Both are north of Atlanta (for those that don't know) and the prices will vary depending on car/mods and what you want done. Every other Dyno Day we have tried to have has fallen through so it was decided that as a majority, this club wasn't interested in going. So again, 10 confirmations willing to give non refundable deposits and I will set this up. For the people that don't frequent the website, give them my number and have them call me.
These don't necessarily have to be CCS members but it is obviously preferred.

Price ranges.

KSS - I will get prices as I see interest growing here.

MPH -
Usually $50 for 3 pulls minor air/fuel adjustments
325 for a chip and tune on a N/A car (no power adders)
425 for a chip and tune on a S/C or Nitrous Car

Don't quote me on those prices because that is coming from my own memory and not from Tim. As soon as I see interest in a Dyno Day I will make the calls to find out the definate prices and available dates.

If you are interested in a Dyno Day, please post here. If you are not, please don't post here. If you have questions about dyno day, this is the place for them.

wait wait wait wait waitaitwiait.....ok.. let me get this STRAIGHT, as you know Wilson can be a little slow at times. If you want a tune and chip (which I do) you pay $325? And this is just like buying a tuner and tuning your car and buying a jet chip and installing it correct??

You have to put 50 dollars down in order to go? Where is this money going to and what is it for?

The SCT Chip is used to make changes to your air/fuel and other things on your car. This is done at the site that dyno's your car. They will dyno it and get numbers, make changes using the SCT chip, then dyno it again to see the performance changes.
The 50 dollars Tre is talking about is for a dyno only. Basically put your car on the dyno and run it, make some changes (not much you can do without a chip) but some, then run it again. You get three pulls for 50 bux. Tre is basically saying he is willing to pay 50 bux (and get his car dyno'd even though he doesn't have a chip) to support the club and this event.

The deposit goes toward your bill at the shop (we don't keep your money if you go) but these events have to be scheduled and the shop basically clears their calendar to have these. So if we ask a shop to do a dyno day and then everyone backs out, the shop is out of the money they "would" have made from normal business. Basically, by putting down a deposit, you are making sure the shop will get paid at least that deposit for clearing their schedule. If you put down a deposit and then back out, the shop will get that deposit to cover their wasted time.

I haven't gotten prices yet so I don't know what the deposit is going to be. I'll let you know when I get all the info. I am off all day tomorrow so I will start getting prices. We still need a few more people interested before I make any commit dates with a shop.

Thanks
-Chris

Come on folks! We need at least FOUR MORE! Where's all of that CCS spirit? Maybe the words 'Car Show' needs to be put alongside of Dyno Day! LOL

I shouldn't bother going if I don't have a chip right?

You can always make those dyno runs and get a baseline. That way you know where you are before your major mods, then after all the mods take it back for another run or even a tune.

How much will it be if you already have a chip, just to have them tune it?
